How will Green shape our future?

The future of our world depends on the way people see and understand the world. We intend to impact that through our educational initiatives. We believe in providing accurate and holistic knowledge to our children and those in support of a sustainable and natural future with projects such as Seed-Pals and Green Curriculum.

A city-wide celebration of parklets is put on once a year to learn about and celebrate the functions of parklets and how they serve to promote businesses and reduce pollution. Sponsoring businesses will provide food and drinks and local musicians and artists will provide the entertainment for everybody to come out and appreciate a space to connect with one another.

Seed Pals

E_C_031

The Seed Pals program is for individuals and families that have plants and gardens to share their seeds with pen-pals. Seed exchange is a thriving community that can now be experienced across the globe. This is a fun and educational experience that parents and children can share and connect with gardeners all over the world. Any new strains can also be sent to the Svalbard Global Seed Vault located in Norway. The Svalbard Global Seed Vault is one of the most prolific Seed Pals in the program.

Foraging Classes

E_I_107

The foraging and cooking class teaches people how to identify and seek out edible plants and fungus out in the world. This is a localized class that looks for the edible plants in local parks and even weeds on a lawn. Once collected, the class also teaches people how to prepare and cook a delicious meal from those found plants. So in the case there is a zombie apocalypse, food will still be available, abundant, and tasty.
